, 256 what? characters, bytes, words etc. perhaps specify what it meens, and/or make it an option for admin to specify for example 60 words, or 300 chars, or 4 lines.

The admin can already control this limit. Bytes == Character and I think it's pretty obvious to most people that this does not refer to words.

However, to resolve the ambiguity I'll add a time unit.
