Hi,

I might need to upgrade to the latest version on FUD but before I do that I would like to know if anyone else has experienced the same thing or maybe we can confirm right now that upgrading FUD won't help.

The problem

The problem is that on several computers a login to FUD on my box is impossible with Internet explorer. I get no error except that the user name and password combination is invalid no other errors are listed anywhere... Not in the browser nor in the error log. Using Netscape is no problem with the same user name and password on the same client.

It will not happen every time. I had the problem yesterday evening and today.

Any suggestions?

Some technical specs...
My box is using Redhat 7.2 (Kernel 2.4.9-31)
Apache 1.3.22
PHP Version 4.1.2
MySQL 3.23.49a

Have you tried using any other browser or earlier/later version of IE?

Ive tried this at work and at home with Internet explorer 6 (on winXP) and Internet Explorer 5.5 (on win2000). I will try other browsers but I'm afraid my users are all using IE to log on...

I was posting this hoping for a simple solution (don't we all Smile)

My history with php is rather short but I've found that a lot of problems that I had earlier where solved by editing a simple option in php.ini or FUDforum config files. I was hoping that this was the case here too.

Well, an upgrade to 2.0 will most likely solve this problem if it has anything to do with FUDforum.
Also, check the cookie variables inside the GLOBALS.php file to ensure they are set correctly.
