Postgresql database support [message #3067] Mon, 10 June 2002 18:39

Supporting postgresql would give you the benefit of many database suavy developers. Some developers do not use mysql at all. So having more than 1 db is great. I would also suggest having support for a db that is a windows one. This is allow you to have an extended user base.

However, this also increases the risk for errors and usability.

Not many forums support mulitple dbs.

When using Postgresql you can benefit from the foreign keys and ref integrity. Try to put most of it in the database. This will allow it to run and perform better.

You will have to provide a separate sql configuration file for setting up postgresql.
