The concept of the login box on the front page has been addapted by looking @ other forums, VB2,phpBB2. Both of them and other forums I've looked at positioned the login box @ the bottom.
The reason we followed suit is 2 fold, 1st at the top of the page there is the "login" link, which is the optimal approach for people who wish to login. 2nd people who used other forums are familiar with the concept of the login box being at the bottom.

OK, I'll buy that. But you should at least give the text + the boxes a little more space. When translated to Swedish the result looks discouraging...

Second, I think the placing is sub-optimal. IMO it should come before the forum list, not after.

Since FUDforum is template based, you can always move it to the top, but literarily changin 1 line inside index.tmpl

Quick login box on front page |

I noticed that a quick login box has been added to the front page. It's a great idea, but I have a couple of comments.
First comment deleted. My mistake.
Second, I think the placing is sub-optimal. IMO it should come before the forum list, not after.

Almost. The text "Thread Split Control Panel" is still hardcoded. The rest of the panel can be translated, though.

Small problem with the text "Thread View". It translated in the latest CVS but it is displayed in the wrong font.

Users panel |

I found a very short hardcoded string in the users panel. After the "Select Notification By Default:" there is a Y or a N depending on the setting. This occurs in the translated version also, ending up like "Förvälj meddelande om nya inlägg: Y".

Hardcoded strings |

There seems to be another hardcoded string in the post form. At the bottom of the screen there is a box in which the current posts of the thread can be seen. The title of this box is 'Thread View', even in the Swedish version of the forum. I can't find this particular string in the msg file, which leads me to suspect that it simply isn't there.
