How to extract a single message? [message #20324]

I want to display the "Announcement" messages from the forum on my home page.

I’ve figured out how to get the message ID, File ID, file offset and length of all the announcement messages. I can write a gadget to go in and read the message myself but I’m hoping there is a more front door method to extract a message body in HTML for display.
